Facts: And I’m going to keep this post short, because I don’t enjoy writing about talentless chuckleheads, but since many of us can be caught in the vice of viewing sensationalism...

While filming for MTV’s “Jersey Shore” on a Friday afternoon, July 30th Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, was arrested for disorderly conduct on a Seaside Heights beach in New Jersey.  Police arrived after other beachgoers complained that an intoxicated Snooki was bothering them.  Snooki was processed at police headquarters then released on a summons.

Legal- A person can be charged with NJ Law 2C:33-2 Disorderly Conduct, when they purposefully and in public, exhibit a. Improper behavior (causing inconvenience, annoyance, threats, violence or alarm) and, or b. Offensive language, offending the reasonable sensibilities of a public hearer. “Public” is largely any place outside of your home, land or privately owned property.

Application- When Snooki, hamming it up for MTV’s cameras, became intoxicated on the public beach and began annoying other beachgoers present, prompting them to call the police- after verifying the beachgoers’ claims (and perhaps Snooki’s drunken wobble), the police made the arrest.

Thoughts- Most people will likely experience the effects of a having a few too many drinks.  It’s unfortunate when that becomes your only act.  Perhaps the Garden State should revoke all access to this pest?   Sadly, I expect Snooki, a New York native, to pull this offense a few more times before MTV pulls the plug on these clowns.
